Tasting Notes: The wine opens up full of blackberry compote, tobacco, dark cherry, licorice, cocoa, pepper, oak, vanilla, round spices of allspice and nutmeg, candied raspberry, plum, balanced acidity and dry tannins.
Food Pairing: Crispy NY Steak with Detroit Zip Sauce, root vegetable gratin, Vietnamese beef stir-fry, cheesy polenta and tomato sauce, veggie lasagna, breaded eggplant rotolo laden with herbs, grilled portobello mushrooms, peppers, herbs, most all cheeses.
Fun Facts: Hoopes multiple vineyards are certified organic and regenerative farmed. They even have an animal sanctuary that you can visit with is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue farm. These animals also contribute to the vineyards agriculture by eating bugs, weeds and warding off harmful vineyard vermin. The dog on the front of the label was owner Lindsay Hoopes first rescue dog and vineyard hand, The Boss - Dante.
