Tasting Notes:  Vibrant strawberry and black cherry on the nose, fine tannins and silky on the palate. Notes of tobacco and green herb aromas enhance this wine with sweet spices, asphalt and violets. There’s a freshness about this well balanced wine. It’s suggested to chill it down to cellar temperature.

Food Pairing:  Roasted white meats, burgers, charcuterie, goat cheese, aged soft cheeses, grilled foods, winter greens, herbs, mushroom, tomato sauce, leeks.

Fun Facts:  Beneath the towns that flank the central Loire Valley, deep underground lies another world.  In the town of Bourgueil, there’s a world of caves, dug into limestone by prior generations—folks who knew that the ideal place to nurture a bottle of wine is deep within the same earth that nourishes the vines from which it came.  The Lamé-Delisile-Boucard vineyards date back to 1869 and this ethereal, ideal way of storing wine came out of necessity during WWII to save their families legacy and preserve vintages, dating back to 1911.
