Fun Facts: This wine comes from extremely steep hillside vineyards composed of limestone bedrock, clay and stony soil. The land has been in the family since the 12th century and family documents prove that it was an agricultural estate dating back to 1641. In fact, this storied vineyard was even cited in a 1777 historical document by the Priest of Sancerre citing their vineyard as the best in the area. For many years the bulk of the estates grapes were sold off to other winemakers. It wasn’t until the late 1970s that the estate began making waves by bottling their own wines and selling it to customers, restaurants and importers.
