Tasting Notes:  Aromas of wild strawberries, crushed dark cherries and rose petals fill the glass.  Black tea, subtle truffle sea salt and umami in the middle with wet crushed rock and notes of ‘where the forest floor meets the meadow’ yield to fresh thyme and more delicate floral notes.  Finely grained tannins with a long sumptuous finish.

Food Pairing:  Take your time and pour a glass while cooking yourself a meal to remember.  Braised pork belly & butternut squash risotto, chicken coque a vin, grilled lamb chops with seasonal strawberry couscous, spring vegetable gnocchi, brûlée polenta & mushroom ragu, country pork pate, sous vide salmon & cauliflower gratin.  Or, paired with an old fashioned grill out with friends & family.

Fun Facts:  Brothers Carlo and Dante Mondavi, the winemakers and owners of RAEN, grew up in the wine business.  This wine is named after their grandfather Robert Mondavi, the late pioneer winemaker in Napa Valley.  Additionally, their great grandfather migrated from Italy to the U.S. and eventually started making wine and purchasing land in 1921.  RAEN stands for Rejuvenating Agriculture Environment Naturally.
