Tasting Notes: White pepper and anise laden strawberry aromas fill the glass. Flavors of maraschino cherry, fennel, light smokiness, summer flowers, pleasant minerality and rhubarb. It's complex, silky and coats the palate. Don’t let the light color fool you!
Food Pairing: Sausage pizza, arugula, light pork dishes, lamb and lentils, charcuterie boards, salty cheeses, bluefin tuna, potatoes, grilled chicken.
Fun Facts: Mortellito sits in “Val di Noto,” the corner of Sicily that lies at the same latitude as North Africa’s arid desert climate, with grooves of ancient olive and almond trees breaking the wind off the sea. After many years of winemaker Dario Serrentino buying grapes from other fellow natural winemakers, he began vinifying his own wines in 2014, working 15 hectares of vines in southeast Sicily.
