Tasting Notes:  Heavy on the strawberry, cherry and rhubarb notes.  Straw, pepper and a slight ocean breeze.  It’s tart, sweet, funky and dry with all the right refreshing notes.

Food Pairing:  Snacks, lots of snacks.  Cheese, olives, marinated vegetables, grilled fish, picnics, chicken sausage, Michigan salad with cherries, blue cheese, pecans and chicken.

Fun Facts:  This wine comes from 100 year old vines on native rootstock.  The Emilia-Romagna region is in the unique seacoast area of the Bosco Eliceo, the “one grand cru for the rare Fortana grape.” Sandy soils, winds with alternating fog and sun makes for a dramatic place for vines to grow.  The wine is unfiltered and the locals often give the lees a shake before drinking.
