Tasting Notes:  Blueberry, white flowers, black cherry, vanilla, spiced plum, sweet spices, tea, soft herbs, luscious and silky on the palate for a medium bodied wine.

Food Pairing:  Duck, game meats, bbq flavors, smoked foods, most all cheeses, fall foods, spice laden dishes such as tomato curry, lamb kofta meatballs or enchiladas, root vegetables, pork belly, pepper steak and paprika.

Fun Facts:  These grapes are sourced from the incomparable Alder Springs Vineyard is one of California’s most iconic vineyard sites.  Perched high above the tiny northern California town of Laytonville, this patchwork of lieu-dits is more reminiscent of the great vineyards of the Rhone Valley than anything in California. In addition to all of the amazing Syrah, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is a gorgeous terraced block of Grenache called Spirit Rock Terraces.  Pax Wine vinifies this wine every year and most years it is blended into their popular Vicar bottling. Some years like this vintage, it’s just too good by itself to blend it away!
