Fun Facts:  The Suriol family estate is situated around a medieval farmhouse built in the 15th century. The family has been farming the property since the 1600s.  The winery focuses on sustainability in all aspects of their business. For example, the glass bottles are generally sourced within 100 km from the estate and the winery has installed solar panels covering a large part of their electrical supply.  In addition, in the 1990s the Suriol family decided to switch their vineyard management completely to organic practices - rejecting pesticides, synthetic herbicides and fertilizers. The estate received its official organic certification in 1996. Furthermore, some 20 years later, Assís Suriol, the current head winemaker took it even further by introducing biodynamic farming practices and limiting the use of sulfur in their wines.
