$135 per person event cost. This does not include tax or gratuity.

The event cost is $135 per person, including lunch and wine pairing. Price per person does not include tax or gratuity. Participants must be age 21 or over.
A select amount of retail wine bottles will be available for purchase to-go at the end of the event.
Larger retail bulk purchases can be picked up the following week.
LUNCHEON:
Focaccia - strawberry romesco & smoked whitefish brandade
Heirloom Tomato - peach, basil, balsamic
Chicken Sausage - Herbs de Povence, fava bean, kalamata olive
Lamb Kabob - zucchini, potato, roasted garlic, herbs
Lunch will last approximately 2 hours, from noon - 2:00 p.m.
Melka Estates focuses on Bordeaux-style wines from specific terroirs. Philippe holds degrees in Geology, Agronomy and Enology; Cherie holds degrees in Microbiology from the US and a diploma in French Studies from the University of Bordeaux III. Philippe is best known for "finding the voice of the vineyard” through its terroir. He began his career working at wineries in France (Château Haut-Brion and Château Petrus), Italy (Badia a Coltibuono), Australia (Chittering Estate) and California (Dominus and Ridge) before settling in the Napa Valley in the 1990s. Twenty-five years after launching their consulting business, the Melka name is often preceded by some iteration of "100-point winemaker." Philippe is an advocate for sustainable viticulture practices, and he encourages the use of organic and biodynamic farming methods amongst the wineries for which he consults.
Melka Estates was established in 1996 and is primarily membership-only. Since 2015, they have distributed in only a handful of states including Michigan. Forrest, A Food Studio has stocked their wine since 2020. Melka is celebrating its 30th anniversary and this is their first time visiting Traverse City! We feel extremely honored to host Philippe & Cherie for an in-person luncheon. We're their only stop in TC before heading to Bay Harbor Yacht Club and back down to Detroit.
